Annual HOA Meeting, May 6, 2021
Thanks to those who attended the annual meeting. This year’s meeting took place on a pleasant evening outdoors on Lionheart Court. President Charles Turner conducted the meeting. Treasurer John Sherwood reported on the financials for the HOA.
After the review of the financials and the highlights of the year, the floor was opened for nominations for new board members. There were none. Fortunately, our existing board members volunteered to continue their roles for another year. We said goodbye to longtime resident LaNita who recently moved from the neighborhood. We thanked Mere, also moving, for her service as Landscape Chair and welcomed Ginger to the role. Thanks to all of these generous people — new and continuing their service to the neighborhood. Their volunteerism prevents us from having to hire a management company for this job and keeps our HOA dues low.
We discussed the difficulty we experience every year in getting neighbors to either attend the annual meeting or return their proxies. It was suggested that those who have not returned their proxy would get another reminder included with their annual dues notice. Without a certain percentage of proxy votes we cannot reach a quorum and cannot formally re-elect our directors and officers. If you still have a proxy, will you please return it to one of the addresses listed on the notice?
The meeting lasted about an hour.
Annual meetings usually take place in January/February. This year’s meeting was delayed until the weather permitted us to conduct business outside, because of COVID-19 concerns. During the year, the board meets every other month. Please contact us if you’d like details for the next meeting - anyone is welcome to attend.
