Message from the Board

March 20, 2025

Dear Friends & Neighbors of Sherwood Estates III,

I apologize for being a little tardy with this report following our Annual Meeting in February. However, I went into the hospital right after the meeting for a scheduled back surgery and am just now getting back on my feet. Thanks for your patience.

On a side note before I begin, I’d like to say I really enjoy getting together as a community twice a year at the Block Party and our Business Meeting. (Never thought I’d say that about a business meeting!)  I enjoy meeting some of you for the first time and welcoming others back year after year. Thank you for your participation at both events if you were able to attend. To summarize:

1)      We had more than a quorum present as well as a number of proxies which allowed us to conduct our business.

2)      The first order of business was the election of board members for the 25-26 business year.  Elected were:

James Clay, Jessica Silverstein. Paul Turner, Rick Donaldson, Suzie Siemik, and Charles Turner (All returning board members from 2024)

Our Volunteers (Not required to be Elected) include:

John Sherwood, Nancy Krohn, and Shelly Concienne

3)      The Board’s proposal to raise the annual HOA dues by $125 to $400 annually. (The first raise in dues in 17 years) was unanimously approved by the quorum at the meeting.

That essentially was the business conducted at our annual meeting.  Thanks again to all who attended and participated. I will try to update you from time to time with any news of interest to our homeowners.

A Friendly Reminder:  The purchase of a home in Sherwood Estates III carries with it an agreement to abide by its Bylaws and Covenants. I’m happy to report that we have a wonderful community of owners who honor the Covenants.  However, occasionally some folks regress a little in some areas.  The most common areas needing attention are listed below:

1)      Garbage cans – The requirement is that the garbage cans are to be stored out of sight, not visible from the street.

2)      Grass Maintenance - Grass must be cut regularly and maintained, not to exceed 6 inches in height.

Thank you all for helping to maintain the attractiveness of our neighborhood as well as the value of all our homes.  Thank you also for allowing me to serve as your president.

Regards,

Charles F. Turner, President of Sherwood Estates III HOA

P.S.   Be on the lookout in your mail in May for the 2025 HOA Dues Invoice at the new amount of $400.00 annually.
